Overview¶
Sessions are individual training segments within a COT event, typically organized by officer role.
How to Access¶
- Open a COT training event
- Navigate to Sessions tab
- View, add, or edit sessions
Creating Sessions¶
Step 1: Session Details¶
For each session, enter:
- Session Name - Role or topic (e.g., "VP Education Training")
- Start Time - When session begins
- End Time - When session ends
- Room/Track - Location within venue (for multi-room events)
Step 2: Session Type¶
Select the training type:
- Role-Specific - Training for a specific officer role
- General - Content applicable to all officers
- Combined - Multiple roles in one session
Step 3: Assign Facilitator¶
Add facilitator information:
- Facilitator name
- Contact information
- Materials/handouts
Step 4: Capacity¶
Set limits if needed:
- Maximum attendees
- Waitlist options

Editing Sessions¶
Update session details:
- Change timing
- Update facilitator
- Modify content description
Tracking Attendance¶
For each session:
- Register attendees
- Mark attendance
- Record completion

Attach resources:
- Presentation slides
- Handouts
- Additional resources
Tips¶
- Allow buffer time between sessions
- Prepare backup facilitators
- Have materials ready in advance
- Consider recording virtual sessions
- Provide feedback forms
Common Questions¶
Can officers attend multiple sessions?¶
Yes, officers should attend their role-specific session, and may attend others for learning.
What if a facilitator cancels?¶
Have backup facilitators identified. Reschedule if necessary.
How long should sessions be?¶
Typically 45-60 minutes, allowing time for content, discussion, and Q&A.
