Solutions to common issues you might encounter when using ToastHost.


Account Issues

I can't sign in

Symptoms: Login fails, password rejected, account not found

Solutions:

  1. Check your email address - Ensure you're using the correct email
  2. Reset your password - Use the "Forgot Password" link
  3. Check your inbox - Look for verification emails (check spam folder)
  4. Clear browser cache - Try a fresh browser session
  5. Contact support - If issues persist

I'm not seeing my club

Symptoms: After signing in, your club isn't visible

Solutions:

  1. Request access - You may need to be added by a club officer
  2. Check for invitations - Look for email invitations to join
  3. Verify the club - Ensure your club is registered on ToastHost
  4. Contact your VP Membership - Ask them to add you

Meeting Issues

I can't sign up for roles

Symptoms: Role signup buttons don't work or aren't visible

Solutions:

  1. Check if signup is open - The VP Education may not have opened signups yet
  2. Verify membership - Ensure you're an active club member
  3. Check meeting status - Past meetings may not allow signups
  4. Refresh the page - Sometimes a reload fixes display issues

The timer isn't working

Symptoms: Meeting timer appears frozen or incorrect

Solutions:

  1. Refresh the page - Timer state may need to sync
  2. Check your internet - Timer updates require a connection
  3. Try a different browser - Some browsers handle timers better
  4. Contact the meeting organizer - They can restart the timer

Voting isn't available

Symptoms: Can't find voting options or submit votes

Solutions:

  1. Check if voting is open - The Toastmaster controls when voting opens
  2. Refresh the page - Voting status may need to update
  3. Wait for the prompt - Voting typically opens near meeting end
  4. Ask the Toastmaster - They can verify voting status

Payment Issues

My payment failed

Symptoms: Card declined, transaction error, payment not processed

Solutions:

  1. Check card details - Verify card number, expiry, CVV
  2. Ensure sufficient funds - Check your account balance
  3. Try a different card - Some cards may have restrictions
  4. Contact your bank - They may be blocking the transaction
  5. Try later - Temporary issues sometimes resolve themselves

Payment shows pending

Symptoms: Payment not confirmed, status stuck as pending

Solutions:

  1. Wait 24 hours - Some payments take time to process
  2. Check your email - Look for payment confirmations
  3. Contact your treasurer - They can verify on the club side
  4. Check Stripe - If you have access, verify in Stripe dashboard

Display Issues

Page isn't loading correctly

Symptoms: Layout broken, missing elements, errors displayed

Solutions:

  1. Refresh the page - Often fixes temporary issues
  2. Clear browser cache - Old cached data can cause problems
  3. Try a different browser - Rules out browser-specific issues
  4. Disable browser extensions - Some extensions interfere
  5. Check your internet - Slow connections cause partial loads

Mobile display problems

Symptoms: Site doesn't work well on phone/tablet

Solutions:

  1. Rotate your device - Some views work better in landscape
  2. Use the latest browser - Update your mobile browser
  3. Request desktop site - Sometimes the desktop view works better
  4. Clear mobile cache - Remove cached data
  5. Report the issue - Mobile issues help us improve

Email Issues

I'm not receiving emails

Symptoms: Missing notifications, password reset emails, confirmations

Solutions:

  1. Check spam/junk - Emails often end up in spam folders
  2. Add to contacts - Add ToastHost to your contacts
  3. Check email address - Verify correct email in your profile
  4. Check email filters - Rules may be redirecting emails
  5. Try a different email - Some providers are more reliable

Too many emails

Symptoms: Receiving too many notifications

Solutions:

  1. Adjust notification settings - Check your profile preferences
  2. Contact your VP Membership - They may be able to adjust settings
  3. Unsubscribe selectively - Use unsubscribe links in emails

Data Issues

My data is incorrect

Symptoms: Wrong information displayed, outdated records

Solutions:

  1. Edit your profile - Update what you can change yourself
  2. Contact an officer - They can update club-side data
  3. Report discrepancies - Let us know about system errors

Data import failed

Symptoms: Import errors, missing records, incorrect data

Solutions:

  1. Check file format - Ensure using the correct template
  2. Review error report - Identify specific issues
  3. Clean source data - Remove duplicates, fix formatting
  4. Try smaller batches - Import in smaller chunks
  5. Contact support - For persistent import issues
