Overview¶
ToastHost provides digital feedback forms that allow you to share constructive feedback with speakers during the meeting while the feedback session is open. Good feedback is essential for member growth.
How to Give Feedback¶
Step 1: Access the Feedback Form¶
During a meeting:
- Open the meeting page
- Find the speaker you want to provide feedback for
- Click the Give Feedback button
Step 2: Complete the Form¶
The feedback form typically includes:
- Strengths - What the speaker did well
- Areas for Improvement - Constructive suggestions
- Overall Comments - General observations
Step 3: Submit¶
Click Submit to save your feedback for that speaker. After officers finish the meeting, ToastHost automatically emails the collected feedback to eligible speakers.
When to Give Feedback¶
During Meetings¶
- Give feedback immediately after each speaker
- Your impressions are freshest right after the speech
- Quick feedback helps evaluators too
Before the Meeting Is Finished¶
- Submit feedback while the feedback session is still open
- If you wait until after officers finish the meeting, feedback collection is usually closed
Tips for Good Feedback¶
Be Specific¶
Instead of "Good job," try "Your opening story immediately grabbed my attention and set the scene effectively."
Be Constructive¶
Frame improvements positively: "You could strengthen your conclusion by..." rather than "Your conclusion was weak."
Be Encouraging¶
Balance constructive criticism with genuine praise. Everyone has something they did well.
Common Questions¶
Is my feedback anonymous?¶
This depends on your club's settings. Check with your officers.
Can I edit feedback after submitting?¶
Typically no, so take a moment to review before submitting.
Who sees my feedback?¶
The speaker receives your feedback. Evaluators may also see audience feedback to inform their evaluation.
Will every speaker get an email copy?¶
ToastHost automatically emails collected feedback after the meeting finishes, but only for eligible speakers who have feedback recorded and an email address on their ToastHost account.
